Overview of Southern Districts Soccer Football Association
A proud affiliate of Football NSW, SDSFA brings together clubs, players, coaches, referees, and volunteers under one banner to grow the game we all love.
Our Vision
To develop life-long participants in football by creating inclusive, enjoyable, and aspirational experiences for every player, coach, and referee — from grassroots to elite. Whether through organised youth leagues, recreational competitions, or elite pathways to national representation, we believe every journey in the game is valuable and worth supporting.
Our Mission
Accessibility and inclusivity make us better. Making soccer accessible and inclusive to all is core to our mission.
Safety is non-negotiable. We are committed to setting new safety standards for our sport.
Team success is critical. Strong team performances drive and impact all parts of our work.
Our Core Values
At Southern Districts Soccer Football Association, our values guide every decision, action, and interaction. We are committed to:

Inclusiveness
We celebrate diversity and ensure football is accessible to all, regardless of age, ability, gender, or background.

Respect
We promote respect for teammates, opponents, officials, and the game itself, fostering a culture of fairness and dignity.

Integrity
We act honestly, ethically, and transparently in all our operations, holding ourselves accountable to our community.

Excellence
We strive for continuous improvement in everything we do—from grassroots to elite development—encouraging all participants to reach their highest potential.

Teamwork
We work collaboratively with clubs, volunteers, and stakeholders to strengthen our football community and achieve common goals.

Passion
We are driven by our love for the game and our commitment to growing and sustaining its positive impact across the region
History of the Association
By early 1947, the founding members had defined the association’s boundaries and rallied support from clubs across neighbouring suburbs — including Canley Vale, St John’s Park, Fairfield, and Chester Hill. Their determination culminated in the launch of the very first official competition on April 12, 1947. What began as a grassroots initiative soon flourished into a dynamic football community, woven into the fabric of local life.
Today, SDSFA remains true to its founding values of community, connection, and passion for the sport. We continue to grow and evolve, nurturing the next generation of players, coaches, and referees, while celebrating the rich heritage and enduring spirit that has defined us from the beginning.
