SDSFA Celebrates Champions of Champions Grand Final Success

The Southern Districts Soccer Football Association congratulates Western Condors U13 boys and Moorebank Sports SC U14 Girls on their outstanding campaigns in the 2026 Football NSW Champions of Champions tournament, with both teams proudly representing SDSFA on the state’s biggest community football stage.

The Champions of Champions competition brings together the premier teams from associations across New South Wales, providing a unique opportunity for local champions to test themselves against the state’s best.

Western Condors Crowned Champions After Penalty Shootout Drama

In the final, Western Condors were the stronger side throughout much of the contest, controlling possession and creating opportunities against a resilient CC Strikers outfit.

Despite their dominance, neither side could find a breakthrough during regulation time, with the match remaining scoreless after 60 minutes.

Golden Goal also failed to separate the teams, setting the stage for a dramatic penalty shootout.

The shootout began perfectly for the Condors when goalkeeper Kristian Galea produced a crucial save from the opening penalty. Liam Luong then calmly converted his penalty to hand Western Condors the early advantage.

After CC Strikers missed their second attempt, Christian Khairo extended the lead, placing the Condors firmly in control. The Strikers responded by converting their third and fourth penalties, but Western Condors matched them through Keanu-Princeton Lobos Salinas before Aahil Muhammad stepped forward to convert the decisive kick and seal a 4-2 shootout victory.

The triumph was a fitting reward for a side that consistently demonstrated quality and composure throughout both the Champions of Champions campaign and their association-winning season.

Moorebank Sports SC Fall Agonisingly Short After Outstanding Campaign

While the result did not fall their way, Moorebank Sports SC U14 Girls can hold their heads high following an outstanding Champions of CHampions campaign which culminated in a hard-fought Grand Final appearance against Kincumber FC.

After receiving a first round bye, Moorebank battled their way through a challenging knockout path. A 2-1 extra-time victory over Harrington United in the Round of 16 showcased the side’s resilience before further victories in the Quarter FInals and Semi Finals secured their place in the states showpiece event.

The Grand Final was a closely contested affair from start to finish, with neither side able to break the deadlock during a tightly fought opening half that ended 0-0. Kincumber struck first in the 33rd minute to gain the advantage, but Moorebank responded in spectacular fashion midway through the second half to reignite their sides hopes.

With the contest seemingly headed toward extra-time, Kincumber found a late breakthrough in the 59th minute of the 60-minute match, narrowly claiming a 2-1 victory.

Despite the heartbreaking result, Moorebank’s performance throughout the final and their journey to the Grand Final reflected the character, determination and quality that has defined their season. Reaching a Champions of Champions Grand Final is an Achievement in itself, and the team represented both their club and the SDSFA with distinction.

The Southern Districts Soccer Football Association congratulates both Western Condors FC and Moorebank Sports SC on their outstanding achievements throughout the 2026 Champions of Champions competition. To have two SDSFA representatives competing on Grand Final day is a testament to the strength of our clubs, players, coaches, volunteers and families.
